Settling in Hampshire

Internet access has been a real challenge and PlusNet a definite NON-recommendable provider. Never mind. Else (or because of that?) life’s been flowing beautifully and, to be honest, I’ve been really enjoying semi-settled life  for a change. Forming new friendships, nourishing old-ones through letters and calls, discovering the odd bits about Hampshire, regular pavement therapy with the mums from next door (read, run at night once the kids are in bed), teaching weekly yoga classes at the fantastic New Energy Fitness in Winchester, becoming part of their inspiring team, watching Noah and Gael make little friends, lifting my oxytocin levels hanging out with other mums and last but not least, indulging in the luxury of having a proper kitchen.

It feels like the weather’s invitation to hibernate will soon expire. Just another couple of weeks or so left to enjoy those warming and nurturing winter foods – with a healthy twist. The sweet smell of home-made cinnamon buns coming from the oven just as the Chai is brewed to perfection. Delicious.

The recipe? I used hemp-seed flour and a few other funky ingredients which always tend to find their way into my cupboard instead of others I didn’t have, but basically it couldn’t be better explained than beautiful Sarah B. of My New Roots had done.
