Living in tune with the seasons can bring a tremendous sense of harmony & well-being to your body, mind and soul. In Ayurveda, autumn brings with it a predominance of air element. It is the ideal season to let go of anything that no longer serves you, release negativity & sadness, plant the seeds for endless opportunities – on and off the mat.
For my Northern hemisphere cruisers, spring tends to increase Kapha – considering the end of a winter, it is somewhat normal to observe a slight excess of the water/earth element which can manifest as lethargy, extra weight, introversion, inertia etc. With cleansing and invigorating yoga poses and a seasonal diet and lifestyle focused on bringing lightness, sharpness, dryness and heat into our lives, we can support our bodies in their natural process of springtime renewal. Mimicking nature, spring is a fantastic opportunity for a fresh clean start.
